Hey there, this is Mike (AKA "The Cousin"),
Many people have gotten together to help my Cousin Phil and his family over the past several months in every capacity they can find. These deeds have varied widely from things such as prayer, to bringing over food, to babysitting, to finding a miniature fan for Denise, to mowing the lawn, to planning a party, and far more. That's just a few that come to mind and just the tip of the iceberg of ones I know about. The hardest thing for people to do over this ordeal - is nothing. We take joy and find relief in doing even the most menial task to help. Despite all of what we do for Phil, there is one thing we all need in society to get by. A fund has been setup for donations (via mail/check or online/paypal) to help out Phil and Denise. Phil is a proud man and it's rather humbling having something like this setup. Below are explanations for the necessity of this, how the fund is setup and how to go about donating. I appreciate all the help and support those of you have
extended to Phil and Denise through this. It's comforting to know that help is always a moment away for them.

| A message from Phil's Aunt... |
Many of us would like to help Denise and Phil out but don't know
how. Thanks to someone at PCS (the school Phil works for) who set up an account for a fund, we
have a way to be of help. Several of us have had a hard time
convincing Phil that there are going to be added expenses with
Denise's hospitalization and recovery that will be an added burden
for them and there are many of us who would like to help. Some of the
added expenses now being incurred and possible for the future are:
~ |
Homecare for Denise: personal care and assistance will be needed probably 3 to 7 hours a day, 5 days a week when Phil returns to work on 1/4/06. The cost is usually $18 to $23 an hour. Phil has been told it will not be covered by insurance. |
~ |
Childcare |
~ |
Medical bills not covered by insurance and co pays |
~ |
Equipment for rehab that isn't covered by insurance and those that may have co pays |
~ |
Assistance for Denise when she is home in housekeeping and caring for the kids.etc. |
~ |
Cover any days off from work without pay when Phil runs out of paid time off. |
~ |
Added gas bills driving to and from the hospital often more than once a day now and in the future for therapy and follow up doctor appointments (There are quite a few specialists) |
These are the items I know of from experience with my family and
the patients I have cared for. You may be able to think of more.
This fund is not a charity and donations therefore are not tax
deductible. This does not mean they are any less needed.
Phil is concerned that donations may exceed need. I have warned him
they are in for a long period of rehab and follow up with doctors.
Often the bills can float in over several years. In the discussion
with Phil he said they could donate any unused funds to PCS, or
another patient or agency in need.
Thank you for all your prayers that have added to Denise's own
strength and God's healing. May your generosity also help ease the
financial burden this has placed on Phil and Denise.

| An eMail from the Pasadena Christian School PTF President... |
|
Dear PTF Parents,
In a bit of breaking news, an account has been set
up for Phil and Denise Williams and their family.
For those of you who may not know, Mr. Williams is
our beloved computer teacher and Denise is his
wonderfully lovely wife. Denise has been
hospitalized and gravely ill for several months now. As you can imagine there is a great amount of
expense incurred with such an extreme illness. We
will have a large drop box on the Will-Call table at
the Fall Event. If anyone would like to bless his
family with a monetary gift of love, drop them a
card, or even if your children would like to draw a
picture for them, you may deposit them in the box.
Mr. Williams and his family are very special to us
here at PCS (just ask your children) and I know all of your gestures would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your support and I look forward to
seeing you this weekend.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXXXXXXXX

| From the Pasadena Christian School Newsletter... |
You received an email from the PTF President presenting a vehicle through which those of you who may wish to can make
a monetary contribution to Mr. Williams and his
family. Following are the details of the process
and some background information for their selection:
|
HOW TO PAY BY CHECK |
~ |
Mr. Williams and Mrs. Diane Evans, girls' PE
coach, have set up an account that Mr. Williams can
draw from when needed. |
~ |
The only reason for the joint account is to
release Mr. Williams from the task of depositing any
donations because his plate is already so full. |
~ |
Checks should be made out to "Diane Evans" for
ease of deposit and indicate in the memo "Williams
Family". |
~ |
Please do not make checks out to PCS. |
~ |
Please do not send cash. Check or cashier's check only. |
~ |
Mr. Williams will receive the bank statements
directly and will be the only one to have the
checkbook. |
~ |
Bank statements and the checkbook are handled only by Phil. |

Background:
There have been several staff members and parents
who have inquired as to how they can support Phil
and Denise in a substantial way as well as
continuing to pray for them. They desire to give
some financial support. Mr. Williams has so
appreciated the support of prayers, meals and child
help and has been reluctant to accept financial help. After some counsel from those around him, he now sees that such help is another way that those who want to can support him.
Thank you in advance for your ongoing prayers on behalf of his family and your gifts of caring and concern. God is working and we praise Him for that! If you would like to keep up with Denise's
progress, visit the website
